THE ROLE: Senior Analyst, Content Research

The Senior Analyst will be an integral member of A+E Global Media's Content Research team, responsible for reporting audience metrics across our portfolio of brands both in the U.S. and internationally. Data analysis, storytelling, and the ability to turn large data sets into actionable insights are paramount. Provide sales and marketing friendly information to help grow A+E Global Media's businesses around the world. Stay up to date on the competitive landscape and industry trends and contribute to decks which will be presented to departments across the company. Help automate and improve analytical systems and streamline processes through knowledge of Excel and/or other related software.

MORE ABOUT WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Act as an internal research expert, leveraging proprietary and third-party datasets (i.e. Nielsen, Adobe, etc.) to analyze data, gather insights, articulate meaning, and recommend actions
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data from various sources for recurring reports and ad hoc requests across U.S. and international markets
  • Manage cross-brand reporting for monthly, quarterly, and yearly outputs across all A+E content
  • Develop a deep understanding of the television landscape and media research
  • Work with the Sr. Director to ideate and build strategic presentations designed to inform company stakeholders of the competitive landscape and industry trends
  • Contribute to cross-platform sales initiatives and pitch decks for Global Content Sales
  • Track and asses D2/Syndication sales and performance
  • Provide channel partners around the world with relevant ratings information, i.e. channel launches, show launches
  • Compile international program ratings for sales markets (MIPCOM, NATPE, MIP)
  • Support Sr. Manager and Sr. Director in researching, writing, and updating international sales presentations and brand decks as needed

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2+ years in television research at a cable network, rep firm, syndicator, broadcast network, ad agency, or research firm
  • BA/BS in related academic discipline is preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with Nielsen data and specific industry software: Star Media, N-Power
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with an ability to identify trends and make insightful recommendations
  • Advanced skill in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of the overall media space and new technology platforms as it relates to TV in general and A+E Global Media specifically
  • Experience with ITVR, Tableau, Domo or other analytics tools is a plus.

  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders
  • Capable of learning how to use new data sets and tools quickly
  • A passion for research, TV, entertainment, popular culture, the media industry, and emerging technology
Compensation Annual Pay Range: $82,729 - $95,138 Annual Incentive Target: 10.00%
