Fortinet HR AI & Automation Analyst Location - Bay Area Only Sunnyale, CA
Position Summary At Fortinet, we believe AI will fundamentally reshape how work gets done. We are seeking an HR AI & Automation Analyst to help lead the transformation of the People Function by leveraging AI, automation, and process redesign to improve productivity, scalability, and the employee experience. Reporting to the SVP, Worldwide HR, this role owns the HR AI and automation roadmap for the People Function. Working closely with HR leaders, HR Systems, and Fortinet's AI Engineer, this individual will identify opportunities to eliminate manual work, redesign business processes, and deploy practical AI solutions that enable HR to operate more efficiently and strategically. Success in this role will be measured not by the amount of work performed, but by the amount of work simplified, automated, or eliminated.
Key Responsibilities AI Strategy, Automation & Process Transformation
Own the roadmap for HR AI and automation initiatives across the People Function. Identify, prioritize, and deliver AI and automation solutions that improve productivity, employee experience, and operational scalability. Serve as the HR Product Owner for AI initiatives by defining business requirements, prioritizing use cases, and measuring business impact. Partner closely with Fortinet's AI Engineer, HR Systems, and technical teams to design, test, and deploy AI-powered solutions, workflow automations, and self-service capabilities. Evaluate emerging AI technologies and recommend practical business applications. Establish metrics to measure adoption, time savings, process improvements, and operational effectiveness. Champion AI adoption across HR through education, change management, and best practices.
Process Excellence
Analyze and redesign HR processes to simplify workflows, eliminate manual effort, and improve quality. Identify opportunities to standardize and scale processes across the global HR organization. Translate business challenges into technology-enabled solutions. Create business requirements, process documentation, testing plans, and implementation roadmaps.
HR Partnership
Partner with HR Operations, Recruiting, HR Business Partners, Total Rewards, Employee Relations, and HR Systems to identify high-impact automation opportunities. Maintain a strong understanding of core HR operations to ensure AI solutions are practical, scalable, and aligned with business needs. Support selected HR operational initiatives as needed while maintaining primary focus on transformation and automation.
Qualifications Required
4+ years of experience in HR Operations, HR Technology, HRIS, Business Operations, Process Improvement, Consulting, Digital Transformation, or a related field. Demonstrated success improving business processes through technology, automation, or operational excellence. Strong understanding of HR processes and the employee lifecycle. Excellent analytical, systems thinking, and problem-solving skills. Ability to translate business problems into technical requirements. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience working in a fast-paced technology environment.
Preferred
Hands-on experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, or similar platforms in a business environment. Experience with workflow automation platforms such as Power Automate, n8n, Zapier, Make, or similar tools. Experience partnering with software engineering or technical teams. Oracle HCM or other enterprise HRIS experience. Familiarity with APIs, integrations, low-code/no-code platforms, or business process automation.
