Business Overview

Novanta's Corporate and Shared Services teams play an important role in executing the company's strategic mission and operations. Included in Corporate and Shared Services are the business functions including Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Information Technology, Legal, Compliance, Corporate Development and Corporate Marketing. The Corporate and Shared Services teams work closely with all Novanta business units to support operating initiatives contributing to the organization's financial success.

Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and analytical Junior Rotational Finance Analyst to join our dynamic finance team. This is a unique opportunity for early-career professionals to gain broad exposure to corporate finance through a rotational program. Over the course of 18-24 months, you will rotate through key financial functions, building a strong foundation in financial planning, analysis, and strategic decision-making.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Deliver accurate and timely financial insight and analysis to support ongoing needs of Corporate and Shared Service department leaders
  • Support financial planning and analysis processes for Corporate & Shared Servies department leaders, including budgeting, forecasts, data analytics, KPI tracking, and preparing management presentations
  • Participate in financial modeling and scenario planning to support strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze business performance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects and presentations.
  • Support process improvements across Corporate Finance processes, and Supply Chain / Purchasing processes, driving efficiencies and accuracy, ultimately improving efficiency of operations at Novanta

General Tasks

  • Maintain strict compliance with the quality, environmental and occupational health and safety regulations and implementation of the instructions of the quality, environmental management and/or occupational health and safety officer.

Required Experience, Education, Skills, Training and Competencies

  • Preferred to have degree in Finance, Accounting, Economic, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related area of study
  • 0-2 years work experience, with preferred prior experience in some of the following areas: financial planning and analysis, or financial management
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently; hands-on individual contributor
  • Competence with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PPT)
  • Aptitude to learn how to use Enterprise Performance Management applications (HFM, Oracle EPM, etc.), Business Intelligence tools (PowerBI, Tableau, etc.) and ERP systems (Oracle, SAP)
  • Aptitude to support process improvement initiatives, including problem identification & mitigation
  • Aptitude to succeed at working cross-functionally, and achieving goals for certain processes or projects
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical skills; strong interpersonal skills
  • Self- started with proactive mentality, motivated by curiosity and learning, and thriving in the dynamic and flexible environment of a growing company.
