Responsibilities

Hours for this role are Monday - Friday, 8a-430p

As a Registered Occupational Therapist (OTR) at PrairieCare, you will play a crucial role in delivering client-centered and interactive Occupational Therapy services. Your responsibilities will include assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and supervising the occupational care of patients and working as a team player with the whole care team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment and Evaluation:
    Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate patients' mental, emotional, and physical health, identifying strengths, challenges, and specific needs.

  • Goal Setting:
    Collaborate with patients to establish personalized, achievable goals that focus on improving daily functioning and quality of life.

  • Intervention Planning:
    Develop tailored intervention plans that address the specific needs and goals of each patient, incorporating therapeutic activities to promote skill development.

  • Therapeutic Activities:
    Facilitate engaging activities that help patients develop skills necessary for daily living, such as self-care, social interaction, and leisure activities.

  • Coping Strategies and Skills Training:
    Teach patients coping strategies to manage stress, anxiety, and other mental health symptoms, providing training in social skills and problem-solving.

  • Education and Support:
    Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and the role of occupational therapy in recovery, offering support and guidance.

  • Collaboration with Multidisciplinary Teams:
    Work closely with other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care, participating in team meetings to discuss patient progress.


Qualifications

What We're Looking For:

    • Requires graduation from an accredited school of Occupational Therapy, certified as an Occupational Therapist and current licensure as an Occupational Therapist, Registered in the State of Minnesota.
    • Level II fieldwork experience in psycho-social OT is strongly preferred for newly graduated candidates.
    • Ability to effectively communicate in written and verbal form
    • Ability to smoothly and rapidly shift between dissimilar tasks
    • Ability to react quickly and calmly as part of a team to handle volatile and potentially emergency situations
    • Ability to make effective decisions while in stressful situations and circumstances

Pay range for this position is $70,000 to $85,000 depending on education and experience. Compensation starts at $67k and up plus great benefits, licensure reimbursement and paid CEU's!
