Responsibilities

As an Outpatient Admissions Therapist at PrairieCare, you will play a crucial role in our mission to provide compassionate and effective care. This position involves conducting mental health clinical interviews, performing safety risk and diagnostic assessments, and contributing to the multidisciplinary admissions process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct diagnostic interviews and assessments, both in-person and via telehealth, collaborating with psychiatry to develop provisional diagnoses and justify level of care recommendations.
  • Perform crisis risk assessments and develop safety plans.
  • Work with the care team and caregivers to facilitate admissions to appropriate care levels, primarily in partial hospitalization programs, intensive outpatient programs, or outpatient services.
  • Ensure a positive patient care experience in line with PrairieCare policies.
  • Maintain an understanding of trauma-informed and culturally responsive care, considering factors such as gender and age.
  • Offer clinical oversight, consultation, supervision, training, and onboarding support for AID team members, including unlicensed and junior-level licensed staff, within the scope of practice.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy or a closely related degree program. Independently licensed as a mental health professional (e.g., LP, LPCC, LMFT, LICSW) in the state of Minnesota
  • Two years of experience in behavioral healthcare preferred
  • Clinical interviewing and diagnostic assessment skills preferred
  • Must have knowledge of DSM-5 criteria
  • Trauma informed, culturally responsive and inclusive lens; oriented and educated in diverse care factors such as gender identity, culture, race, religion, and age
  • Foundational skills in interviewing and safety/diagnostic assessment
  • Display a professional, patient-centered attitude in all aspects of performance
  • Skills to conceptualize clinical presentations and communicate clearly and effectively with Clinical Directors and professionals both internally and within other organizations
  • Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office Products including Word and Outlook
  • Ability to smoothly and rapidly shift between dissimilar tasks
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently communicate both in written and verbal form
  • Ability to react quickly and calmly as part of a team to support or intervene in volatile and potentially emergency situations. Ability to actively model self-regulation when within stressful situations
  • Ability to make effective decisions while in stressful situations and circumstances
  • After training, be able to manage agitated patients and families

Compensation for this role ranges from $65,000 - 85,000 depending on education and experience.

An individual's pay rate within the posted range is determined by several factors, including skills, experience, education, and market conditions.
