Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit |
The History department promotes the study, research and teaching of history spanning from antiquity through the modern day. |
Position Summary |
The
LAUNCH (The Lab at
UNC History) an initiative within the Department of History at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, promotes the use of digital tools for historical teaching, research, and storytelling. We support the Department's commitment to prolific, cutting-edge research with dedicated, creative teaching through our educational programs and community-building initiatives. Our guiding principles ensure that the undergraduates, graduate students, and faculty who study and teach history at
UNC-Chapel Hill benefit from the latest advancements in digital technology. This position will be working with Dr. Lauren Jarvis in this work. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. |
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
Demonstrated accounting and budgeting skills. Strong problem-solving skills, confidentiality, and organizational skills. Expertise and comfort working in Microsoft Excel. Attention to detail to ensure accuracy of transactions. Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize deadlines, and balance short-term tasks with longer-term projects. |
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
Experience with PeopleSoft or other Enterprise Resource Planning systems in a higher education setting. Knowledge of
UNC finance and accounting procedures, policies, and systems including ConnectCarolina, InfoPorte, and Ramses. Experience with all source types, including preparing budgets for grants, knowledge of trust funds (including endowments). Experience with financial transactions such as vouchers, journals, etc. |
