Job Description

Overview: The Lead Shipping / Receiving Associate position is responsible for tasks related to building orders for customers, and maintaining finished goods, inventory, and installation supplies. These tasks include, but are not limited to, lifting and carrying boxes of stone, moving pieces of stone from crates to boxes, handling large pieces of stone, building orders, yard organization, and customer service.

Responsibilities:

* Takes measures to improve inventory methods, employee performance and equipment maintenance and repair.

* Confers with Production, Installation, and Project Managers to coordinate activities efficiently between their respective departments

* Manages direct delivery activities (including inter-company transfers) to achieve optimum utilization of resources (labor, trucks, etc.)

* Coordinates staging of all product deliveries, both inbound and outbound

* Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and leads workers to ensure compliance with standards

* Ensure timely preparation and shipment of products to customers

* Works closely with logistics supervisor to:

. Set and enforce safety standards and regulations

. Help lead monthly and quarterly inventory counts.

. Maintain standards of organization of yard, tools, and machinery

* Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications

* High School Diploma or GED equivalent

* Requires three (3) or more years of experience in a warehouse or yard environment

* Computer literate and proficient in MS Office products (MS Word and Excel); must be capable user of email

* Ability to learn to use the Company's shipping tools and software quickly

* Current forklift certification or ability to obtain one quickly. Prior forklift experience preferred

* Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls.

* Reaches with hands and arms to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

* Must regularly lift and/or move product in excess of 25 pounds

Hourly set rate:

The US pay range for this full-time position is $20.00 per hour to $22.00 per hour + medical, dental, vision benefits starting day 1 + 401k and PTO. (Full-time is defined as regularly working 30+ hours per week. Union programs may vary depending on the collective bargaining agreement.)
