Description
PURPOSE Level 1 Finish Technician works to deburr parts and pem/dip/paint parts. The ideal candidate has the basic knowledge of working with any kind of finish polishing or sanding, including using a hand file. This position will inspect welded aluminum parts to ensure they are esthetically pleasing to the eye. The ideal candidate must be familiar with how paint lays over aluminum parts and how that may affect the esthetic appearance after paint. The candidate must also be familiar with using body/two part epoxy filler to cover cracks and other defects on aluminum parts. This candidate must have the ability to work in a timely and efficient manner to meet shop deadlines. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Work with appointed employee to make sure appropriate finish is applied to parts. * Work with appointed employee to make sure all finish tools are kept neat and in their proper place * Keep shards of scrap metal, slugs, skeletons and all other debris properly disposed of * Work with appointed employee to be shop order is properly filled out being careful of part quantities * Work with appointed employee to make sure the manner in which parts going to the press brakes for bending are stacked * Keep the deburr area policed on a daily basis not allowing any dust, debris etc. to build up and to maintain a clean work area. * Clerical duties as assigned: Assembling shop orders, shop packets, printing drawings and labels for the master QA filing cabinets as well as helping manage the inventory of office supplies for the Fabrication department. PREFERRED SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS * A 2 year technical degree is preferred for this position, but not required. A high school diploma or GED equivalent and work experience is acceptable * Basic knowledge of working with any kind of finish polishing or sanding, including using a hand file * Must be familiar with how paint lays over aluminum parts and how that may affect the esthetic appearance after paint. * Must be familiar with using body/two part epoxy filler to cover cracks and other defects on aluminum parts. * Must possess proficient and knowledgeable skills for electrical and/or mechanical assemblies and possess excellent eye hand dexterity * Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently ADDITIONAL NOTES Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities
