Under direct supervision of an experienced healthcare technology management (HTM) professional, performs a variety of routine tasks associated with the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of biomedical and laboratory equipment. The equipment is varied and frequently non-related as well as being located in multiple and diverse departments of the institution. The majority of the work is performed in a repair shop setting with occasional work required in patient care or clinical settings. Bioengineering is comprised of people committed to working together to safely maintain medical equipment, collaborating to solve problems, and providing top notch customer service for the University of Iowa Health Care patients and staff. Successful candidates will be subject to a criminal background and credential check. This position is not eligible for University sponsorship for employment authorization. Work will be performed between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. $13.00/hour. Position is located onsite at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Minimum Requirements: * Successful completion of the Biomedical Equipment Technician Trainee Program; or One year of experience troubleshooting, repairing, and testing electronic or electromechanical equipment. * Must meet the University of Iowa Fleet Services program rules and regulations, due to the ability to drive University vehicles. Desirable Qualifications A.S. degree in Biomedical or Electronics technology * Previous Biomedical Equipment Technician experience. * Knowledge of medical terminology.
