Job Title: HR Generalist / Dispatch er
Location: Slinger, WI
Schedule: 7:00am - 3:30pm M-F (Train 8:00am-4:00pm)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Wage: $15.00 - $25.00 Depending on experience
Position Summary:
We're looking for a dynamic and resourceful professional to join our team as a HR Generalis / Dispatch er This hybrid role keeps the front office humming, the wheels on the road turning, and the people behind the scenes supported and engaged. If you thrive on variety, organization, and fast-paced problem-solving - all while wearing multiple hats - this is the job for you.
Key Responsibilities:
Dispatch & Logistics:
  • Schedule and dispatch drivers based on load needs, routes, and driver availability
  • Monitor driver locations and adjust assignments using dispatch software and GPS tracking
  • Communicate effectively with drivers regarding changes, delays, or emergencies
  • Ensure deliveries are completed on time and in compliance with customer expectations
  • Maintain accurate driver logs, camera video logs, trip sheets, truck maintenance and DOT compliance records
  • Follow DOT rules and regulations
Office Administration:
  • Answer incoming calls, and provide general support to staff and drivers
  • Maintain records, process invoices, manage office supplies, and handle data entry tasks
  • Ensure documentation for deliveries, maintenance logs, and regulatory paperwork is properly filed
  • Support bookkeeping tasks and assist in payroll prep and reporting as needed
HR Generalist Functions:
  • Support recruitment activities, including posting jobs, screening candidates, and onboarding new hires
  • Maintain personnel files and ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations
  • Assist with benefits administration, open enrollment, and employee questions
  • Coordinate training and safety meetings
  • Handle employee relations issues professionally and confidentially
  • Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and workplace policies and assist in policy updates
  • Schedule drug screenings and DOT screenings
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent work history
  • 2+ years of experience in office administration, dispatch, or HR support (transportation industry preferred)
  • Working knowledge of HR practices, including employee relations, and compliance not required but preferred
  • Experience with Quickbooks desired, but not required
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to juggle competing priorities
  • Strong data entry skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office required. Proficiency with dispatch software, and HRIS or payroll systems is a plus
  • Familiarity with DOT/FMCSA regulations is a strong plus
