We are seeking a Deployment Network Specialist to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business Unit. As part of (SES) Strategic Business Unit you will be part of a team that designs, engineers, integrates, operates and maintains electronic security services inclusive of intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio visual, it systems, perimeter defense and command and control systems for federal, local and commercial customers across high-growth markets.
Responsibilities
Summary
- Deployment Network Engineering staff will primarily support the O&M Network Engineer in Pre-Installation, on site Deployment and go-live testing. This includes preparing and performing on-site network surveys at customer sites, participate in the infrastructure configuration and testing activities prior to deployment and directly involved in the hands-on implementation at customer site. Deployment Network Engineers are responsible for all the documentation and revisions of each deployment and provide feedback to the O&M Network Engineer for future deployment improvements.
- The job is 100% on-site work at customer facilities. No teleworking is anticipated.
- Domestic and international travel is expected.
Required/Minimum Qualifications
- DoD Manual 8140 Cyberspace Workforce Qualification Certification for Intermediate level Network Operations Specialist DCWF Code 441
- Bachelor Degree in an Engineering Field AND 3+ years working experience a network administration role OR 7+ Years work experience in a network administration role
- Must hold a valid driver's license and ability to obtain a passport for international travel.
- Ability to identify cable colors, markings or labels.
Candidate duties, responsibilities and skill sets needed to be successful:
- Candidates must be detail oriented, with excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), ability to communicate with all levels of the organization and to present complex and technical concepts to non-technical team members.
- An ability to learn new technologies quickly
- An ability to develop and follow processes and standard operating procedures.
- Deployment of network equipment and technology, with working knowledge in network device, configuration, able use device command line interfaces (CLI) and make configuration changes as needed
- Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Candidates are expected to perform root cause analysis to troubleshoot & identify issues at all layers of the network.
- Experience with cloud provider environments such as AWS and Azure, with IL-2 or higher experience a plus
- Working knowledge of WAN technology and deployment and troubleshooting different communication circuit types.
- Understanding of layer 1 technologies and their capabilities and limitations, including cable management, cable types, media converters, circuits to include CPE, Telco & Demark, etc.
- Experience in creating network diagrams, rack elevations, and cable drawings.
- System configuration based on DoD security policy and guideline. Candidates are expected to configure, troubleshoot and manage network security across a multi-enclave environment.
- Installation experience with routers, switches, firewalls and Security and Encryption appliances
- Understanding of networking protocols and technologies (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, MPLS, QoS)
- Juniper/HPE/JUNOS experience is a plus
Qualifications
Clearance/Citizen Type: Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and may meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information; Top Secret with SCI eligibility required
Position / Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline with 3+ years of experience. Experience in lieu of degree will also be accepted.
- Strong communication skills and experience using ticketing.
