Who We Are
Denison University is dedicated to inspiring and educating students to become autonomous thinkers, discerning moral agents, and active citizens. Information Technology Services ( ITS) supports this mission by delivering secure, reliable, and innovative technology solutions for learning, research, and operations. The cybersecurity team plays a critical role within ITS - protecting systems and data, enabling trust, and helping the university meet its responsibilities to students, faculty, staff, and partners. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including generous paid leave, healthcare, retirement plans, and tuition benefits, alongside a commitment to professional development and collaborative work.
Who You Are
You're an individual passionate about tackling modern cybersecurity challenges. You possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and are adept at implementing, managing, and updating systems and policies to maintain robust security standards and ensure reliable service delivery. Your curiosity drives you to stay current with emerging technologies and best practices. You communicate directly, honestly, and clearly, and you understand the critical role of data in making sound security decisions. You also understand the human element of security, valuing the trust and collaboration of everyone in our community, and are ready to lead by example in promoting a culture of cybersecurity awareness and excellence within the university. You're also prepared for occasional after-hours response when critical issues arise.
Your Team
You'll be part of a two-person cybersecurity team alongside the Senior Director of Cybersecurity, to whom you'll report directly. This small-team model is intentional, enabling agility, visibility, and close collaboration across ITS and the broader campus community. With exposure to systems, strategy, and operations, the role offers opportunities to deepen your expertise, build new competencies, and help shape the university's cybersecurity program.
