JOB SUMMARY

UT Southwestern is seeking a skilled and experienced Manager of Logistics with a minimum of three (3) years logistics experience in a hospital or multi-hospital system; plus a minimum of one (1) year work experience in a Manager or higher level role.

This position will manage the day-to-day operations for the department across multiple locations by ensuring the efficient and cost-effective movement of materials, supplies, and equipment; manages supply chains, inventory, transportation, and storage, while adhering to regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

The ideal candidate can adapt to the operational needs of the department and organization, to include strong leadership, conflict resolution, communication, interpersonal skills, analytical skills, organizational skills, proactive approach, knowledge of supply chain management principles, and healthcare regulations (FDA, OSHA, and JCAHO); creativity and innovation, digital literacy helpful.

Work Location: Dallas Campus; may or may not require travel to and from other UTSW locations.

Shift Requirement: Monday through Friday; hours discussed during interview.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required



  • Education
    High School Diploma or equivalent.


  • Experience
    Three to five years experience in a hospital or multi-hospital system supply chain management, with a strong background in a clinical setting and
    1 year experience in management.

JOB DUTIES



  • Develop and oversee the implementation of the asset management system, including the establishment of the Asset Management Unit, including creation & maintenance of data base, performance metrics, reporting, etc.
  • Develop and maintain the strategic and annual asset management plans aligned with the institutional and departmental strategy and budget.
  • Develop and oversee the maintenance of the asset database, including acquisitions, maintenance management, service calls, transfers, and valuations.
  • Maintain Rental reduction for medical equipment, including assessment of needs, acquisition management, operational and disposal plans.
  • Plan and execute the asset verification, investigate and report of variances, make necessary recommendations to resolve discrepancies, and update the asset database.
  • Verify the spatial plans to the physical asset and update with changes as needed. If adjustments and changes are necessary, work with the appropriate staff to accommodate changes.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliation with support schedules of the asset databases to the relevant accounting records and resolve issues and unclear items.
  • Maintain a one year and five-year business plan for the life cycle of assets, including an analysis of pricing options utilizing life cycle cost.
  • Assist departments with tracking equipment and assets across UT Southwestern Medical Hospitals and Hospital Based Clinics. This includes but is not limited to tracking, service, replacement, and reduction of rental.
  • Manage tracking, replace business plan, and service for immovable assets and update the asset database.
  • Establish and execute a performance measurement system to evaluate the effective utilization of assets.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
