Position Summary
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is looking for summer intern to work on the development of statistical and artificial intelligence algorithms for the analysis of high-resolution histology images. The Research Specialist will contribute to the development of novel computer vision algorithms that aim to solve specific translational or scientific questions in a variety of diseases including hematological malignancies, organ transplant rejection, neurodegenerative diseases, and breast/GI/brain/neuroendocrine tumors. The research may include: basic methodology development, empirical/theoretical validation and study, close collaborations with physicians/biologists, open-source software development, and contributing to writing manuscripts.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Experience with the python data science ecosystem (e.g. numpy/pandas/matplotlib) and pytorch are necessary.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Previous experience working on projects in relevant areas which may include: deep-learning, computer vision, or spatial statistics.
