Position Overview
Primary Purpose of Position |
The Esports coordinator will develop and implement all student activity and programming related to Esports. This position will supervise student staff who manage the day to day operations of the Esports area. This position will advise and work with students and campus partners to develop a healthy community of gamers and reinforce the values of equity and inclusion in the gaming community. |
Primary Function of Organizational Unit |
Campus Recreation provides a broad and diversified listing of fitness and wellness programs, activities and classes that meet the needs and interests of the entire campus community. These activities are organized and administered in a manner that is intended to provide a recreational break from academic pursuits, improve physical health, and develop skills and interests that contribute to healthy lifestyles. The greatest opportunity lies in fostering personal growth through competition, self-testing, and teamwork that is found in participating in recreational and fitness programs. |

Troubleshoot basic systems issues, including gaming and audio/visual systems, broadcasting and
production technology. Serve as primary point of contact and administrator for software used to manage PC games and user experience. Manage the purchase of selected gaming titles and implement sound strategies, playing patterns and dynamics of competitive play. Network within the collegiate sports industry and stay abreast in Esports and gaming trends and technology. |

Work closely with University Communications to develop innovative and effective Esports communication and marketing strategies. Collaborate with other departments and student groups/organizations to help facilitate academic and shared usage of the Esports space. Represent
NCA&T and the Esports program at campus and offsite events, in person or virtually. |

Duties |
Oversee all operational and logistic planning as well as serving as a key stakeholder in the strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Esports program. Develop, implement and evaluate operating policies and procedures for the Esports area. Provide strategic direction that allows for growth in the collegiate competition environment. Implement data reporting and analysis structure via assessment software that can be used to monitor and evaluate efficiency of programs. Prepare and communicate reports as needed. Assist in the cultivation and maintenance of relationships with corporate sponsorships. Hire and supervise student staff. Establish, maintain operating schedules, competition and practice schedules for all sponsored events. Coordinate , supervise and evaluate Esports programming, open recreation gaming, special events, leagues, camps and tournaments. |
