GENERAL SUMMARY

The Staff Accountant will be performing general accounting functions, analytical and operational procedures and will work with existing accounting team members in a support capacity.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS



  • Prepare annual Form 571-L for all branches/departments.
  • Assist in the preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly regulatory reports, including but not limited to Local Agency Deposit Report, FR-2900, FR-2644 and FR-2420.
  • Monthly reconciliation of various GL accounts.
  • Prepare and file quarterly and annual Census Bureau Reports (BEA).
  • Month end accrual accounting and JEs for FHLB advances, brokered CDs and Solar investments.
  • Record Brokered CD settlements, maturities, and other related transactions.
  • Recording of daily FRB Excess funds.
  • Review and process employee reimbursement requests through Concur.
  • Investigate and clear system non-post/rejected items.
  • Assist with the monthly balance sheet and BCA reconciliation process, including distribution of balances to various departments, collecting reconciliations and verifying balances against supporting documents.
  • Assist accounting and A/P with ad-hoc projects, reports and requests.
  • Work with external and internal auditors and SOX and prepare documentation to support audit requests.
  • Assist in other accounting and reporting functions as requested by senior management and as deemed appropriate.
  • Security pledging for local agency and letter of credit pledging.



QUALIFICATIONS



  • Education: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college in accounting or finance preferred.
  • Experience: At least one year of relevant experience required and within a banking environment preferred.
  • Skills/Ability: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Organized and detail-oriented. Working knowledge in accounting and regulatory filing requirements. Work independently and in a team environment.

$23.08 - $27.88 / hour
Pay determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
This position may be eligible for a discretionary bonus.
