Job Description

The primary responsibilities of the Material Specialist, DC are pulling completed product from the floor, palletizing, staging for transportation, and loading and unloading freight from vendors and outbound to customers.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Leads the effort to implement best practices within job scope; expected to participate in activities designed to improve production, quality and safety.
  • Oversees the work of employees to ensure quality and productivity standards are achieved and maintained.
  • Works with employees to identify and correct work not meeting standards and assists department management in establishing productivity standards.
  • Responsible for administering and communicating policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company requirements.
  • Develops and maintains excellent working relationship across all levels of the organization.
  • Performing any other miscellaneous duties as by may be assigned by Scheduling and Materials Manager

  • INITATIVE AND PEOPLE SKILLS:
    • Must be able to work effectively in a high-involvement, empowered work environment. Must work as a member of a Team and be able to interact and work cooperatively with cross-functional teams and other business units within the company. Must possess excellent people skills, including ability to effectively communicate.
  • EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
    • 1 year of related experience
  • LANGUAGE SKILLS:
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as bills of lading, packing lists, shipping schedules, shipping reports, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with Managerial/Supervisory co-workers, Quality Control Personnel, Sales Personnel, and Customers.
  • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • REASONING ABILITY:
    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
    • Must be able to be certified as a Forklift Operator

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous manufacturing experience that includes the use of measuring devices

  • Standard office equipment including computer, mouse, keyboard, telephone, multifunction copier
  • Personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and steel-toed safety shoes

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
