Description The Janitorial Worker is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness within a manufacturing plant and/or warehouse. This role involves performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a safe, hygienic, and productive working environment. The Janitorial Worker plays a key role in supporting the overall operations of the plant by ensuring that all areas are clean, organized, and compliant with safety and health standards. Primary Responsibilities: Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, removing cobwebs, and vacuuming floors and surfaces in production areas, offices, restrooms, and common areas. Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and other high-touch surfaces. Empty trash bins and recycling containers and ensure proper disposal of waste materials according to company procedures and environmental regulations. Assist with basic maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs, minor repairs, and reporting any significant maintenance needs to the Facilities Manager. Clean and maintain janitorial equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers, and cleaning supplies, ensuring they are in good working condition. Follow safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and report any safety hazards or incidents immediately. Monitor and manage cleaning supplies and materials, including restocking as needed. Report low inventory levels to the Maintenance Manager. Participate in special cleaning projects or deep-cleaning tasks as assigned, such as floor waxing, carpet cleaning, or cleaning after major production events. Other duties as requested. Required Skills: Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work is preferred, particularly in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Knowledge of cleaning techniques, tools, and chemicals used for various cleaning tasks and surfaces. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Strong attention to detail to ensure thorough cleaning and maintenance of all areas. Understanding of safety procedures and protocols related to cleaning and maintenance tasks. Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Education & Experience: High School diploma or equivalent experience required. Familiarity with cleaning processes and equipment used in manufacturing environments a plus. Minimum one year of janitorial experience.
