What is this role about?
McGraw Hill, the leading provider of digital and print educational resources, is looking for an Instructional Design Supervisor, OCR for our K-12 division.

This position is fully remote but can also be based in one of our McGraw Hill offices. This is a Project Status Worker (PSW) position. Candidates must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States.

The Instructional Design Supervisor, OCR will be a valuable member of a collaborative K-5 literacy team. As part of this team, you will lead instructional designers in the planning and building of online teacher and student experiences. The Instructional Design Supervisor, OCR is a strategic people leader, responsible for delivering impactful digital solutions that align with program goals.

What you will be doing:

  • Supervise a dynamic team of Instructional Designers, guiding their efforts to create impactful educational content as they collaborate with cross-functional peers to prototype and develop courses and digital curriculum assets (such as eBooks, interactives, simulations, games and virtual labs).
  • Make sense out of ambiguity by synthesizing research results, business needs, and stakeholder feedback to craft innovative and scalable solutions to complex design problems.
  • Proactively identify problems and risks, identifying scalable solutions to those problems that adhere to the design vision and engage appropriate stakeholders when risks arise.
  • Make informed decisions to optimize resource allocation and manage operational initiatives for tactical delivery.
  • Partner with cross-functional leads to oversee external vendors and production-focused teams to ensure alignment with project objectives and quality standards.
  • Lead on cross-functional teams to ensure that product requirements, project timelines, and product goals are met and completed on time.
  • Collaborate as an instructional design expert to help define a program's holistic experience.
  • Collaborate with diverse teams to develop digital programs from inception to execution, leveraging expertise across disciplines.

We're looking for someone with:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, English Language Arts, Instructional Design, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS, proficiency with design authoring tools, and experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Demonstrated experience in instructional design research, theory, and application within the education sector.
  • Proven track record in creating and implementing interactive educational materials, multimedia, and learning games.

The pay range for this position is between $71,300 - $90,000 annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. Click here to learn more about our benefit offerings.
