Ever-Green Energy is looking for a team member to provide technical support to current and prospective Duluth Energy Systems district heating and cooling system customers. Analyze economics and perform engineering required to develop marketing materials and proposals for prospective new customers. Communicate and represent customer interests and concerns in the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of proposed HVAC systems and in the design and construction of the interfaces to the district heating and cooling system. Perform the role of Duluth Energy Systems' in-house engineering and technical resource for steam plant, chiller plant and distribution system repair, maintenance and operational matters. Manage Plant and Distribution System Capital Projects. Duluth Energy Systems, in Duluth, MN, is the City-owned steam plant that has provided the Canal Park and Central Business Districts with stable, reliable heat since 1932. The Duluth energy system provides heating to 165 buildings in Canal Park and downtown Duluth. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Manage distribution system Capital Projects to include: Review and approve construction design & bid specifications; evaluate bid submittals and make source selections; procure owner-supplied material; approve and monitor construction schedule; develop or approve QA plan and oversee its implementation; review and approve contractor requests for payment, with reporting and oversight of the approved project budget; oversee testing and commissioning process; certify construction completion. 2. Provide technical assistance to customers and prospective customers regarding optimal use of district heating and cooling, including review and implementation of building conversion and service connection designs, prevention and solution of problems with heat exchangers and other equipment, and implementation of improved energy management procedures 3. Provide recommendations for improving energy efficiency in customers' buildings. 4. Identify potential district heating and cooling customers; analyze the economic and engineering suitability of connecting prospective customers to system. 5. Prepare proposals and coordinate negotiations with prospective district energy customers. 6. Conduct monthly customer usage review to ensure accurate customer billing. 7. Provide input regarding customer service needs and provide recommendations for improving customer service to include energy consumption data management and system operation, modification, and expansion. 8. Provide engineering support for Duluth Energy Systems distribution operations including providing or reviewing repair, maintenance, and operating procedure improvement recommendations related to customer service. 9. Performs other duties as assigned. Please note that the specific compensation for this role will be determined based on your experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity considerations. The salary range for this position is: $85,600 to $105,000. This range reflects the base salary for this position.
