Genesis10 is currently seeking a Network / System Engineer with our client in the financial industry located in Charlotte, NC, Plano, TX, Irving, TX and Dallas Metro, TX and Pennington, NJ. This is a 12 + month contract position.

Responsibilities:


  • Provide engineering support for the evolution of the Monitoring and Event Management Platforms
  • Align to the current and approved architectural, roadmaps, technology standards and templates, governance and change management policies.
  • Follow established written procedures, guidelines and techniques, develops, enhances, tests, supports, maintains, and debugs software applications that support business units or support functions
  • Responsible for the completion of a phase of a project
  • Maintain and support the Event Management platform while adhering to policies and standards
  • Participate in and help coordinate maintenance activities
  • Guide and mentor, a teams of specialists assigned which provide operational support of the Event Management platform
  • Advise server and application support teams on how best to use Event Management functions
  • Develop, update and test event management solutions
  • Perform and assist with troubleshooting server & application issues
  • Respond to incidents for application availability issues as part of on-call duties
  • Develop software solutions to address manual work, repeatable work or inefficient processes that can be improved
  • Prepare and maintain solution design, support & process documentation
  • Support efforts to design, integrate and implement monitoring and event management solutions



Requirements:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience with engineering and implementation of IBM Netcool Suite of Products
  • Strong experience in deploying and engineering solutions in the Netcool Omnibus, Netcool Impact, Webgui, Cognos, in high availability environments
  • Strong experience in developing Netcool Impact policies and Omnibus triggers
  • Strong hands-on experience with EIF, MTtrapd, MessageBus, Webhook probes along with custom probe rule creation
  • Working experience with OpenShift and Kubernetes environments
  • Fully competent to work under general direction on the most complex projects, often on multiple phases, and seeks guidance and direction from more senior associates or manager, as needed
  • Working knowledge of business or function for which application is designed



Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, related field and or technical training
  • Self-starter, self-directed and shows initiative
  • Focused on execution, delivery, and commitment to dates
  • Skills in scripting such as with Python, Ansible, Shell
  • Basic knowledge of Active Directory
  • Can tie strategy and actions to business impact and results
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Organized and detail oriented; must have a strong technical acumen
  • Ability to partner with others for the good of the initiative
  • Good understanding and working experience with OpenShift and Kubernetes environments
