JOB SUMMARY
We are hiring 1 person for either a Technical Specialist - Testing Senior or Technical Specialist - Testing Lead. LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Complex responsibilities related to primary focus of job area. Uses best practices and in-depth business knowledge to solve complex problems and improve products or services. May adapt procedures, processes and techniques to meet the more complex requirements of position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Serves as Team Leader for Air Emission Testing.
- Works under the direction of a qualified individual as required by ASTM-D7036.
- Performs quarterly and diagnostic quality assurance testing on emission monitoring systems, performs quality assurance of test data, prepares written test reports and compiles electronic test data to meet regulatory requirements set forth by USEPA and other regulatory agencies.
- Provides technical support to the Corporate Air team for emission monitoring hardware and software to maximize data quality and data availability.
- Provides technical support to CEMS and I/C technicians on emission monitoring software and hardware issues.
- May serve as the interface between testing contractors the plant and/or regulatory agencies assuring test plans and methods are adhered to during testing.
- Serves as team lead for performance testing for the process engineering group.
- Serves as a technical resource for capital projects in the areas of emission monitoring, testing, process control and automation.
- Provides technical support to CEMS and I/C technicians on emission monitoring systems.
- Assists in member development by serving as an subject matter expert (SME).
- Directs/performs maintenance and certification on the mobile testing system.
- May assist on power plant outages.
- All other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Technical Specialist - Testing Senior Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical field (e.g., Electrical/ Electronics, Mechanical, Engineering or Power Technology), and 3 years of technical work experience in a directly related specialty (Instrument & Controls, Testing or Reliability); Or
- Associate's Degree in a technical field,(e.g., Electrical/ Electronics, Mechanical, Engineering or Power Technology), and 4 years of technical work experience in a directly related specialty (Instrument & Controls, Testing or Reliability); Or
- Bachelor's Degree Bachelor of Science degree (e.g. Geology, Chemistry, Forestry, Biology) in any field and 8 years of technical work experience in a directly related specialty (Instrument & Controls, Testing or Reliability); Or
- Associate's Degreeand equivalent military experience and 5 years of technical work experience in a directly related specialty (Instrument & Controls, Testing or Reliability).
Technical Specialist - Testing Lead Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a Technical discipline (i.e. Electronics, Engineering Technology, Power Plant Operations, etc.), and 4 years of technical work experience in a directly related specialty (e.g. Instrument & Control, Testing or Reliability); Or
- Associate's Degree in a technical specialty, and 6 years of technical work experience and NICET level III or ISA level III certification; Or
- An advanced degree in a technology field (e.g., MS in Engineering Technology) and Qualified Source Testing Individual (QSTI) in both groups I and III, and 2 years Technical Specialist work experience.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Approximately ninety (90%) percent of time spent at customer sites (power plants).
- Ability to travel to external customers sites both in and out of state which include frequent overnight stays.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to attend training schools both in and out of state.
- Provides technical support 24X7.
- Climbs ladders up to 250 feet and work at high elevations for extended periods.
- Ability to travel to all power plants and wind generation facilities in the OG&E system.
- Ability to travel to external customers' sites both in and out of State.
- Required to work non-standard work schedules (i.e. outside typical Monday through Friday) to include overtime, weekends, holidays, and call-outs, as needed.
- Ability to work in all ambient conditions (i.e. extreme wind, heat and cold).
- Required to wear personal protective equipment (i.e. flame retardant clothing, steel toed boots, hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, fall protection etc.).
- Requires carrying of a cell phone or pager.

SPECIAL SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
- This position is classified as a Safety-Sensitive Function under United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) regulations. Individuals in this position are subject to the terms and conditions set forth in OGE Energy Corp.'s USDOT Drug Testing Plan.
- This is a DOT Regulated position. (Member will drive a single vehicle, or a truck and trailer combination weighing over 10,001 lbs.)
- The handling, packaging, processing, storage, disposal or transport of hazardous materials;
- The operation of equipment, machinery or power tools;
- Repairing, maintaining or monitoring the performance or operation of any equipment, machinery or manufacturing process, the malfunction or disruption of which could result in injury or property damage;

- The extraction, compression, processing, manufacturing, handling, packaging, storage, disposal, treatment or transport of potentially volatile, flammable, combustible materials, elements, chemicals or any other highly regulated component;
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAS)
- Ability to adopt and practice Incident and Injury Free (IIF) philosophy.
- Basic knowledge, understanding and the ability to apply the EPA test methods and regulations set forth in the Code of Federal Regulations.
- Understands and has the ability to follow regulatory requirements and testing protocols.
- Ability to prioritize and schedule tasks to meet regulatory requirements.
- Basic understanding of the installed emission monitoring systems within the Company.
- Basic knowledge of fundamental instrumentation and control concepts.
- Basic knowledge of maintenance, testing, installation and repair of most types of instrumentation and control components.
- Ability to communicate with individuals at various levels throughout the organization.
- Basic computer skills using MS Office.
- Basic knowledge of programmable logic controllers and Human Machine Interface equipment and the ability to make minor programming changes under engineering guidance.
- Ability to read and interpret basic electrical and control drawings.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude in the use of hand tools.
- Ability to take on additional responsibility.
- Knowledge of AC/DC control circuits and components.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Required Certifications/Licensures:(Qualified Source Testing Individual (QSTI) certification in Group I within one (1) year of accepting the position and Group III within two (2) years of accepting the position (Required))
