The Virtual Care Strategic Planning and Development Manager for the Virtual Care Institute is responsible for establishing, managing, and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders across VCU Health to drive the successful implementation of virtual care initiatives. This role serves as a liaison between the Virtual Care Institute and clinical, operational, and administrative teams, ensuring that virtual care initiatives align with institutional goals, enhance patient care, and improve system-wide efficiency.

The Virtual Care Strategic Planning and Development Manager acts as a leader, coach, strategist, and facilitator of change, working to define and establish service and support requirements for virtual care programs. This position requires expertise in healthcare operations, virtual care models, and regulatory frameworks to proactively identify business needs, address challenges, and ensure the effective integration of virtual care solutions.

Essential Job Statements

Collaborates closely with the AVP, Virtual Care Institute to develop and deploy the strategy and both short-term and long-term goals for the Virtual Care Institute, cascading the strategic priorities into projects with associated measures of success.

Leads the gathering of virtual care needs through proactive, direct interaction with stakeholders to understand business processes, key drivers, measures of success and both short-term and long-term plans for the entity, unit, or department as they relate to virtual care.

Maintains strong relationships with IT, Enterprise Analytics, Legal, Marketing and various other shared services to understand processes, requirements and decision criteria that relate to virtual care delivery.

Serves as a subject matter expert in legislative issues relating to virtual care delivery. Investigates legislative issues and potential impacts to VCUHS. Partners with operational leaders to plan for and address potential impacts.

Liaises with operational leaders to scan the environment for virtual care opportunities.

In partnership with IT, develops and maintains technology decision criteria for virtual care categories. Assists with the selection of technology leveraging decision criteria.

Conducts program and project reviews to measure achievement of defined goals and outcomes. Assists with gap analysis to drive business planning and operational design of specific programs and projects within the Virtual Care Institute portfolio.

Maintains knowledge base to serve as a virtual care subject matter expert internally. Liaises and networks with external programs to drive continual learning and development and continual innovation of virtual care delivery models.

Supports all other functions related to the development and operations of the Virtual Care Institute as needed.

Required Education: Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Administration, Information Systems, Accounting or other job-related field from an accredited program.

Minimum Qualifications

Years and Type of Required Experience: Five years' in administrative, business operations, data management and/or strategy development roles. Healthcare experience required.

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Critical thinking and strong communication and presentation skills to liaise with all levels of the organization. Solution architect - ability to break down a problem, understand processes and develop appropriate solutions. Growth mindset and desire to learn and continually improve.
