Job Description

Plans, organizes, and coordinates procurement for major equipment capital projects. Collaborates with multi-disciplinary project team members to align procurement activities with capital project goals.

Job Responsibility




  • Participates on multi-disciplinary major equipment capital project team throughout all phases of project.
  • Collaborates with business stakeholders to develop detailed list of equipment, furnishing, supply, service, and configuration needs for project.
  • Develops equipment plans and procurement budgets for capital projects including costs associated with purchase, transportation, storage, installation and other related factors.
  • Monitors consultant equipment planners, and provides guidance on equipment standards, organization practices, etc.
  • Ensures project alignment with organization standards and related regulatory guidelines.
  • Provides guidance, assistance and coordination regarding Procurement efforts for formalized competitive bidding.
  • Uses expense reduction strategies while ensuring quality of products and services.
  • Identifies and evaluates existing inventories for potential refurbishing, relocation and reuse; incorporates approved items into project equipment plan and budget.
  • Collaborates with team members to obtain quotes, negotiate prices, and facilitate purchase and delivery.
  • Ensures alignment of budget and schedule with overall major capital project budget, schedule, and specifications.
  • Liaises with materials and logistics vendors to assist project management in coordinating delivery and installation of equipment and furnishings.
  • Provides project management with plans and checklists for tracking and reporting completed equipment ordering, deliveries, installation and acceptance.
  • Reports supply chain activities, expenditures and encumbrances to project team/ management to ensure monitoring of opened purchase orders and receiving reports.
  • Creates and maintains related records in accordance with department, project, and regulatory guidelines based on standardized project templates.
  • Creates, maintains, and updates standardized templates of equipment complements and specifications in accordance with organization standards and contracts.
  • Operates under general guidance and work assignments are varied and require interpretation and independent decisions on course of action.

Job Qualification




  • Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience, required.
