We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a Account Manager on our Marketing & Membership Experience team. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 3 days a week in the office.

In this position will be responsible for supporting and building long-term success of the Health
System and Group Partnerships accounts, contributing to year over year account retention
for large health systems. In this capacity, the Account Manager will work with
the Director and Vice President to drive partner engagement via advocacy,
physician well-being, spotlight and recognition efforts, and other resources,
working cross-functionally across the AMA enterprise.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Account Management and Development

  • Build and nurture relationships with current, new, and prospective group partners by establishing communication with leadership contacts responsible for each group membership benefit.
  • Create and implement account plans that support membership retention and growth
  • Gain access to C-Suite and Executive Leadership to monitor customer satisfaction, gather insights to meet customer goals and objectives, and communicate updates on benefit fulfillment, new resources, and invitations to added-value programs or events.
  • Create and foster AMA relationships within each business section to successfully deliver and execute benefit fulfillment; facilitate delivery of AMA-wide offerings based on needs of groups and members
  • Retain and increase membership levels at all accounts; inform Director of any retention risks and establish plans to mitigate the risk.

Business Development

  • Provide competitive insights and new and enhanced product ideas captured during customer account interactions and industry conferences.
  • As the voice of the target audience, assist in identifying existing and emerging needs to maximize future acquisition opportunities and customer satisfaction.
  • Cultivate contacts from networking opportunities at meetings/conferences/events.
  • Navigate to influencers and decision makers within accounts to cross-sell additional AMA products and resources.
  • Contribute to roster expansion through discovering opportunities via insights from C-Suite leadership and their employed physicians; coordinate and collaborate with Account Executives to develop opportunities at new accounts.
  • Assist in creating/identifying AMA resources to grow membership within each assigned account.
  • Engage account participation in AMA-invested speaking opportunities and related thought leadership initiatives.

Program Administration

  • Ensure account plans, reports, Scorecard data and Salesforce activities are executed and updated accurately.
  • Work with management and Operations to support continual improvement of account management processes.
  • Provide support to Operations team with regards to membership processing, contracts, invoicing, and physician rosters.

May include other responsibilities as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or healthcare required. Advanced degree a plus.
  2. 7+ years of sales and account management experience within a large health system required. Experience with C-Suite and decision makers preferred.
  3. 5+ years of experience in leading, influencing, and interacting with external stakeholders required; experience with managing physicians, academic leaders, or other professionals preferred.
  4. Established industry contacts within health systems and large group practices preferred. Established knowledge of issues and concerns within the health system and large medical group environmental landscape highly preferred
  5. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including presentation skills, required.
  6. Demonstrated history of organization, prioritization, and management skills to handle a variety of multi-faceted projects in a fast-paced, high volume team environment. Must meet deadlines with minimal supervision in a changing, fast-paced environment.
  7. Polished interpersonal, decision-making, and diplomatic skills to interface and communicate with all levels of leadership, staff, and management, and build sustainable, trusting relationships with members.
  8. Ability to react quickly, calmy and with sound judgment.
  9. Excellent multi-tasking skills, with high-quality standards and strong attention to detail and excellent troubleshooting skills.
  10. Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Salesforce required.
  11. Ability to identify issues, recommend resolutions, and escalate appropriately for management attention
  12. Some travel required

This role is an exempt position, and the salary range for this position is $107,865 - $140,964. This is the lowest to highest salary we believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's pay within the salary range will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to business consideration, geographical location, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
