*Description*
This is to help the current Engineering team stay on top of current and upcoming projects. They will need to be detail oriented individual strong with AutoCAD and IBC Code. They must be currently an engineer in the security space specifically with Access Control. Below are the bullet points surrounding the job as discussed with the Manager. 1.Carries out in-depth analysis of plans, functional specifications and contracts in order to determine and advise on overall project requirements; manages all routine aspects of project including estimating, design, tracking, start up and planning phases; material and equipment procurement. 2.Provides input, reviews and may prepare shop drawings and wiring diagrams, based on project plans and specifications for completeness, showing location of devices, equipment, wiring, etc. 3.Advises Project Manager regarding products needed for installation, identifying any items which have longer lead times, and tracks materials on an ongoing basis to ensure timely arrival/delivery to the project site. 4.Acts as "our customer's best service provider" at all times thereby ensuring the company is the customer's first choice for service. 5.May provide custom systems integrations, detailed systems upgrade planning and execution, systems audits and consultation, and/or database management and manipulation. May install, configure, and support a variety of network systems and equipment for assigned projects. 6.Prepares and/or reviews formal submittal booklets, containing schematics, and technical literature as necessary to support each contract. 7.Provides on site assistance with the installation and start up, check out and turnover processes. 8.Coordinates project schedule and field labor on all assigned projects; proactively communicates project schedules, project change proposals (as applicable) and related project activities on a regular basis with customer and seek to continuously improve customer satisfaction. 9.Assists the Project Manager in utilizing financial systems to review actual vs. estimated job cost and to provide timely and accurate project cost reports; identify reasons for low job site productivity and determine impact on the project. 10.Acts as a technical resource and support to sales executives including attending pre booking meetings. 11.Prepares databases and job related programming for computer based systems. 12.Provides diagnostic and troubleshooting support for possible problems including debugging software, electrical problems, installation problems etc to existing customers, sales team and service department as necessary. 13.Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required. *Skills* IBC Code, autocad, autocad design, access control, access control certification, mechanical engineering *Top Skills Details* IBC Code,autocad,autocad design,access control,access control certification,mechanical engineering * Responsible for the application engineering of assigned projects including small to medium projects that are less complex. * Individuals work shall be in accordance with the established quality standards. * This role is the technical support contact for our customer and is responsible for maximizing customer satisfaction with installed Security, and/or Building Automation Systems. * Ensures projects are effectively executed to budgeted cost and time schedules. * Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required. * Basic knowledge of engineering principles and practices related to building automation systems, and/or electronic security systems. * Proficient computer skills including MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel); basic networking & IT skills (Security & Building Automation primarily). Education: College degree, trade school or equivalent experience Preferred Experience: (but not required): - 1-3 years low-voltage systems project - Experience in 1 or more of the following industries: electronic, fire alarm & life safety, and/or building automation *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
