Department Overview

Power Generation operates and maintains PG&E's hydroelectric, fossil, solar generation and battery storage facilities, providing approximately 5,300 megawatts of generating capacity for our customers. Our nearly 1000 coworkers are dedicated to delivering safe, reliable and cost-effective generation to California in an environmentally responsible manner. Our hydro facilities include 62 conventional hydro powerhouses, a pumped-storage facility, 98 reservoirs, 168 dams and morethan 200 miles of canals and flumes, among other water conveyances. Natural gas-fired plants in operation are Humboldt Bay Generating Station in Eureka; Colusa Generating Station in Colusa County and Gateway Generating Station in Antioch. Several utility-scale solar generation plants also are operated and maintained, as well as PG&E's successful entry into battery energy storage, our Elkhorn Battery facility at Moss Landing in Monterey County.

Position Summary

Oversees the strategic planning and consolidated management of contracting activities in Power Generation. Incumbents work in partnership with sourcing and the various departments to plan, write, and administer the contracting process. Incumbents deliver quality contracts with tangible earned value to PG&E internal customers while maintaining the highest degree of safety for employees, coworkers, contractors, service providers, and the general public.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of thejob posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will bebased on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience,market value, geographic location, and internal equity.Although we estimatethe successful candidate hiredinto this rolewill be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decisionwill be made on a case-by-casebasis related tothese factors.

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $122,000

Bay Area Maximum: $194,000

Job Responsibilities

  • Manages a 24x7 contracting program including after hour's contract deployments.
  • Supervises staff to accomplish results through effective recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management and rewards and recognition.
  • Provides oversight and strategic direction for the development and successful implementation of contract management activities.
  • Works closely with key stakeholders in developing technical scope, planning, pricing, contract structure and incentives, contractor performance, and quality control.
  • Develops project scope, solicits proposals from contractors and supports contract specialists by incorporating specifications in contracts.
  • Uses financial, legal and system knowledge in negotiation and signing of vendor contracts as well as in authorizing payment on contracts.
  • Coaches, develops, and leads the team members to achieve the department goals and the individual's development objectives.
  • Contributes to group financial performance by monitoring budget and system performance, controlling costs, and reviewing and approving expenses.
  • Oversees the Technical Procurement Specialists and the contract creation process.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • High School or GED-General Educational Development-GED Diploma
  • Experience in contract management, or related, 5 years

Desired:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Experience with SAP financials and materials, or related
  • Experience with SAP or SAP modules
  • Legal Assistant certification
  • Supply Chain Management Certification, for example, APICS, ASCM
