About the position
The Material Production Control Associate is responsible for assisting the materials team in maintaining accurate and sufficient inventory through materials receiving, production reporting, and cycle counting processes. Works directly with the Materials team and plant operations to ensure all day-to-day material control activities are completed efficiently.
Responsibilities to Anticipate for this Role
  • Support all Grand Rapids Production Programs by assisting with planning and scheduling job release to Material Handling team; monitoring detailed parts, subassemblies and end items through each step of the process (Oracle and Non-Oracle Engineering Release).
  • Ensure on-time delivery of the end items to the customer.
  • Develop electronic tools, forms, and templates to improve material handling efficiency and accuracy.
  • Entry and maintenance of Oracle CycleCount reports. Must be able to manage inventory and investigate material discrepancies.
  • Conduct WIP audits to determine inventory accuracy and material availability.
  • Understand and analyze materials processes to effectively provide direction and guidance to Material Handling Lead and Production Supervisors.
  • Provide communication for timely resolution of problems that could affect product deliverables.
  • Expedite orders that may become late.
  • Understand and manage data with regards to Oracle MRP and WMS systems; assist to determine and manage manufacturing lead times, order policies, material in process, etc., in support of master schedule
  • Perform Oracle transactions related to warehousing, planning, shipping, and production support.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience in warehouse and materials with emphasis on inventory control, cycle counting, receiving processes; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office required. Experience with Excel Macro designing preferred.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to perform multiple tasks, track and follow up on requests for information.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and build schedules.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to approach issues with a systematic approach that yields positive results.
  • Must have Oracle proficiency with various programs
  • Must be able to work in a multi-disciplined team environment.
  • Strong organization skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Exhibit good judgement, common sense, leadership and decision-making skills and abilities
  • Strong math and computer skills.
  • Professional and effective communication skills a must.
