Department Summary The Department of Chemistry offers various opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students interested in cutting-edge technology and research. We allow students to pursue their scientific creativity with guidance from leading chemistry faculty. Chemistry is the study of matter and its reactions, provides a basic understanding needed to deal with a variety of societal and scientific needs, including energy, food production, health and medicine, biotechnology, new materials, environmental concerns, new processes, and national defense. Chemistry is a science central to the study of medicine, biology and modern physics. Position Overview This position has primary responsibility for overseeing recruiting, admissions, enrollment, and advising for the M.S. and Ph.D. programs in the Chemistry Department. The position serves as the primary liaison to the Toulouse Graduate School, the College of Science, the Chemistry Graduate Affairs Committee, the Department Chair, and the Chemistry faculty on all matters involving the graduate program. The position also coordinates assessment and curriculum changes for both the graduate program and, to a lesser extent, the undergraduate programs in Chemistry. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in related field and one year of professional related experience in coordinating or administering higher education programming or related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
