The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) IT Program Applications (ITPA team) is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and implementing changes to the Salesforce platform for WWP.

The Business Systems Analyst Intern will gain hands-on experience in IT business processes and systems. With guidance, the intern will assist in gathering business requirements, supporting user acceptance testing, and helping analyze technical solutions. The intern will collaborate with the team to document and refine business needs, assist in quality assurance processes, and contribute to IT improvements that support WWP's mission.

APPLICANT ALERT: This is a paid internship opportunity for qualified applicants, and requires in-person attendance, three days each week at our Jacksonville, Florida location. This is not a virtual position.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Observe and analyze business functions by gathering information and reviewing system outputs.

  • Support the review of business systems and user requests to understand and document business needs.

  • Assist in researching and documenting potential system solutions.

  • Help document requirements and define project scope to align with business strategies.

  • Collaborate with the team and business partners to gather and analyze functional requirements.

  • Assist in translating business requirements into user stories and basic technical documentation.

  • Participate in brainstorming solutions to business challenges.

  • Help develop and execute test cases for system testing.

  • Learn about risk assessment and identifying potential system issues.

  • Assist in project documentation and maintaining system protocols.

  • Support report preparation by collecting and summarizing information.

  • Other related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Strong customer service skills and a willingness to assist others.

  • Interest in technology, problem-solving, and IT operations.

  • Ability to work well with teams, collaborate effectively, and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Eager to learn how to identify and solve problems.

  • Clear verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts.

  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet deadlines.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with Visio or Project is a plus.

  • Mission-driven, guided by core values, and a pleasure to work with.

EXPERIENCE

Requirements

  • One year of customer service experience.

  • One year of experience using Microsoft Office, e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.

Preferences

  • Basic understanding of business analysis and IT systems.

  • Experience with data analysis, process mapping, or workflow documentation (academic or project-based).

EDUCATION

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent.

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college.

Preferences

  • Pursuing a degree in information technology, computer science, or related field.
