Job Purpose
Responsible for leading and developing a team of Engineers performing protection compliance activities and standards development/maintenance. Interface with leadership across Engineering, Operations, IT, and the Control Center to meet National Grid's regulatory compliance. Engage key stakeholders to ensure adherence to National Grids compliance and support the delivery of the capital program.
Key Accountabilities
- Responsible for overseeing the team's overall performance including compliance requirements, capital project support, and regulatory support.
- Manage the National Grid Strategy associated with our compliance of NERC Protection Reliability Standards.
- Support New York ISO protection initiative, including but not limited to the New York State Phasor Measurement Unit System (PMU).
- Manage the National Grid Strategy associated with both our current cyber security compliance and all future cyber security needs.
- Develop and Manage the National Grid future strategy associated with substation remote access.
- Conduct monthly one on one meetings, formal quarterly reviews, and end of year performance reviews with team
- Hiring, orientating, training, mentoring, and developing of the team.
- Maintain a strong working relationship with Engineering, Operations, IT, and the Control Centers.
- Maintain knowledge of the engineering process, organizational structure, and other discipline processes.

Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree is required, preferably in an Engineering or Cyber Security related discipline.
- Knowledge of and experience with electric power facilities with particular emphasis on protection and control systems is preferred.
- Knowledge of and experience with Cyber Security is preferred.
- Knowledge of and experience with NERC PRC standards is preferred.
- Demonstrate experience and ability to plan, direct, and execute technical work.
- Knowledge of and experience with protection and control devices is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software such as MS Excel, MS Word, MS Visio, and MS PowerPoint.
- Ability to organize and work on a wide variety of tasks concurrently. Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Ability to work with a wide range of people internal and external to the company handling a variety of problems and demands.
- Valid driver's license required with a safe driving history that meets National Grid's Safe Driver policy.

Salary: $147,000 - $173,000 This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.
