Job Description

Position Summary:

Under direct supervision, a Metal Lab Tech performs basic lab tasks such as, preparing samples for testing, complete general testing, and prepare and complete paperwork such as control sheets, which define required testing methods based on industry specification. The tech will demonstrate the ability to follow internal technical process specifications and read blueprints. 0-2 years of experience.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.
  • Perform laboratory tests: tensile, shear and fatigue stress durability, stress rupture, torque, hardness, hydrogen determination, static alignment, and ductility hardness testing.
  • Macro and micro metallurgical preparation and examination.
  • Prepare samples and associated data cards for orders to be tested.

Required Skills:

  • The ability to read and write English.
  • An introductory competence in shop math such as working with fractions and decimals.
  • Proficient in the safe operation of a variety of laboratory test equipment.
  • Basic blueprint reading competencies.
  • Good organization skills.
  • The ability to understand standard procedures.
  • The ability to interpret technical test requirements from customer blueprints and procurement specifications.

Required Experience:

  • 0-2 years of experience.

Level of Education:

  • GED or High School diploma preferred but not required.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $23.25 to $29.00 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter . Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.
This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)). To be qualified to work in this facility, a successful applicant must be a U.S. Person, as defined in those regulations, and able to supply evidence of that qualification prior to starting work or be authorized to receive controlled information under a specific license or permission from the relevant government agency.
