Brief Summary of Work for this Position |
The
CIE Operations Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day facility operations and resources effectively to meet operational goals and objectives. Overall responsibilities include tenant management, including sales and lease management; budget/finance; facility management, including basic IT support & troubleshooting; marketing; event management and support; and student hiring and management.
The
CIE Operations Manager works with university departments to manage the
CIE budget, including purchasing, invoicing, grant award management, travel expenses, advertising, facility repairs and improvements, media equipment, and reporting. The Operations Manager develops, updates, and maintains marketing communications including but not limited to the website and written reports about
CIE activities. The Operations Manager executes and assesses operations practices; creates and implements leasing and rental goals and objectives; implements quality monitoring and performance improvement for
CIE facilities; and ensures safety and security policies, procedures, rules and regulations are interpreted correctly. The Operations Manager supervises and mentors student employees and interns.
Responsibilities also include: aggregating data and creating reports, coordinating and executing events, facilitating workflow throughout a professional work environment and responding to inquiries regarding programs and events, and managing technology in the building. This position requires the ability to work with minimal supervision and will interface with a variety of individuals and programs including clients, other
UNCW departments and government officials, and the entrepreneurial customers. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. |
Preferred education, professional skills and experience |
- Knowledge of UNCW internal systems, two years experience working in a university environment and familiarity with accounting or bookkeeping and sales.
- Intermediate to expert experience with Excel.
- Experience with creating and maintaining social media platforms and marketing communications.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Entrepreneurial spirit.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
