Role Description

The Material Review Board (MRB) Quality Technician, situated in Weirton, West Virginia, will execute a critical function as a hands-on inspector within Form Energy, supporting operational activities. Collaboration with the Production, Quality, and Engineering teams in our pilot operations is required to facilitate the manufacturing of products. This position offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to the initial phases of development and production of Form Energy's novel products.

This opportunity is based out of Form Factory 1 in Weirton, West Virginia.

What You'll Do:

  • Conducting thorough examinations of incoming materials, components, and finished products to detect defects, non-conformities, and deviations from established quality benchmarks.

  • Maintaining precise documentation of inspection outcomes, encompassing photographic evidence and detailed reports.

  • Coordinating with the quality control department to address material quality concerns and determine disposition (acceptance, rejection, or rework).

  • Performing corrective rework on defective components or products to ensure adherence to quality specifications.

  • Employing various tools, equipment, and methodologies to rectify or modify materials as necessary.

  • Maintaining comprehensive records of all rework activities within a Manufacturing Execution System (MES), detailing performed tasks, utilized materials, and time expenditure.

  • Liaising with the MES team to implement essential process modifications to meet engineering criteria.

  • Collaborating with production and quality teams to ascertain root causes of defects and non-conformities and to propose process enhancements.

  • Engaging in continuous improvement initiatives to elevate product quality and operational efficiency.

  • Providing instruction and guidance to team members regarding rework procedures and optimal practices.

  • Working in close conjunction with cross-functional teams, including production, quality control, and engineering, to promptly resolve material-related issues.

  • Championing safety measures in all work engagements.

What You'll Bring:

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a manufacturing or production setting, with a focus on material review and rework procedures.

  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education or technical certification in a relevant field is highly preferred.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and the capacity to identify defects and quality discrepancies.

  • Advanced problem-solving capabilities and the ability to function autonomously and within a team framework.

  • Experience utilizing and inputting data into computerized systems, particularly Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).

  • Robust communication proficiencies and the capacity to collaborate efficiently with team members.

  • The ability to lift and transport materials up to 30 pounds in weight.
