Description
As a Construction Materials Laboratory Technician, you will perform light to moderate labor-intensive laboratory duties and testing under the direction of the Lab supervisor. Minimal analysis of data required. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Perform higher level and routine lab index testing of soils, concrete and asphalt to determine compliance with project specifications with limited supervision. * Perform testing using specialized equipment designed to collect data from the various construction materials. * Compile paperwork into reports for review by supervisor(s). Work Environment: This job operates in both a laboratory setting as well as a professional office environment. Position will entail frequent exposure to dusty environments as well as occasional exposure to outside work and sedentary work. Physical Demands: Continuous: * Lifting under 40 lbs. * Standing Frequent: * Lifting up to 50 lbs. * Climbing stairs * Reading, typing and computer input * Stooping, walking, bending, reaching, pulling and pushing * Clarity of vision at both over 20 feet and under 20 inches * Able to judge depth, have a good field of vision, and identify and distinguish colors.
