About the Job

We are seeking a highly self-motivated researcher. The ideal candidate should be a critical thinker, independent, and detail-oriented, have strong a work ethic, and excellent communication skills. The candidate will be responsible for all of the day-to-day roles of the lab as well as quality control and improvements of panels offered by the lab. The candidate will also interact with internal and external researchers to design, plan, and execute experiments. The successful candidate will be able to help drive projects from initial design through publication.

Responsibilities
Design, coordination, and execution of research experiments (70%)
- Independently design panels, validate antibodies, and execute experiments
- Perform custom antibody conjugations
- Perform daily laboratory maintenance tasks such as replenishing reagents, remove hazardous and chemical waste
- Participate in collaborative studies in association with P01 and other multi-PI grants

General Core Management (30%)
- Purchase laboratory supplies
- Oversee the use of and maintenance of equipment
- Supervise and mentor undergraduate and junior researchers
- Interact with researchers interested in utilizing the core, including experimental design and processing of quotes from internal UMN researchers and external researchers

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- BA/BS degree plus at least five years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and relevant work experience to equal at least nine years
- Mammalian cell culture experience, both primary and cell line
- Lab management experience; maintaining lab supply levels and lab equipment
- Experience with purchasing and processing of quotes

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $30 - 36/hr; depending on education/qualifications/experience

Time Appointment: 75%-100% Appointment

Position Type: Civil-Service & Non-Faculty Labor Represented Staff
