Foley & Lardner LLP is seeking a junior- to mid-level associate with 2-3 years of relevant experience to join our Taxation Practice Group in our Boston, New York, or Washington DC office.
Qualified candidates must have experience in tax matters related to fund formation, investment management transactions and partnership taxation. Experience in mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, representing buyers and sellers in transaction tax matters, tax counseling experience for choice of entity, LLC agreement and tax-side transactional work preferred. Strong writing, communication, and interpersonal skills are required. We are seeking a well-rounded, dynamic, highly motivated associate with exceptional analytical, drafting, and project management skills, who is willing to be flexible with assignments, has the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, and has a strong desire to contribute to a team. Positive attitude, willingness to learn and improve, and dedication to serving our clients are essential. Top academics and experience required. AmLaw 100 experience strongly preferred. To be considered, a candidate must hold a JD from an ABA-approved law school and must be in good standing and an active member of the Bar of the jurisdiction(s) where the candidate is admitted to practice. Timely admission to the state Bar coinciding with office of hire will be a condition of employment. We have a growing, dynamic fund formation practice. Pursuant to the New York City Human Rights Law, the expected salary range for this position is between $240,000 - $260,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
