Job Title: IT Information Security Analyst
Job Type: Contract-to-hire
Contract Duration: 12-months, contract-to-hire
Worksite Location: 1-day onsite in Allen, TX ***the first month, will require 3-days onsite Tue, Wed, & Thur for training and onboarding. Then, the role can transition to 1-day onsite per week.

Hourly Compensation:$36.00 - $52.00, based on experience and credentials
Salary Conversion Target: $75,000 - $110,000 + full benefits, based on experience and credentials

Vaco is seeking an experienced IT Information Security Analyst for a contract-to-hire employment opportunity for a local client based in McKinney, TX within the financial services industry that is seeking to expand their InfoSec Team. This role will require candidates to work onsite in Allen, TX and the client would look to convert this resource to a full-time employee within 12-months on contract, offering a lucrative benefits package upon conversion. Candidates must currently be local to the Dallas/Fort Worth area and willing to work onsite, as our client is unable to offer relocation assistance at this time. Candidates must also be legally eligible to work in the United States, as our client is unable to sponsor at this time.

Overview: The IT Security Analyst will monitor the company networks and be responsible for responding to security incidents and threats, identifying security risks and implementing measures to protect the organizations data and IT systems. This individual will work in collaboration with other cross-functional teams to ensure compliance and a healthy posture for the organization.

Job Scope & Responsibilities:
Risk Assessment & Mitigation:
  • Identify, assess, and analyze security risks across systems.
  • Design and implement security measures to mitigate identified risks.
  • Research security enhancements and provide recommendations to management.
Security Monitoring & Incident Response:
  • Monitor security incidents and respond to emerging threats.
  • Investigate security violations and take corrective actions.
  • Analyze system logs and network traffic for signs of potential breaches.
Policy & Procedure Development:
  • Develop and enforce security policies and procedures.
  • Assist the Information Security Officer with audits and management response efforts.
Ongoing Security Audits & Testing:
  • Conduct regular security audits, tests, and evaluations.
  • Stay up-to-date with security trends, developments, and information technology standards.
Collaboration & Training:
  • Assist colleagues in installing security software and understanding information security practices.
  • Help facilitate security awareness and training for team members.
Required Qualifications:

Technical Expertise:
  • A minimum of 3+ years of experience as a Security Analyst in an enterprise environment, with the following:
  • Expertise in computer network penetration testing and related techniques.
  • Proficient in networking concepts, protocols, and services.
  • Knowledge and experience in configuring, maintaining, and securing both Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Understanding of security tools such as firewalls, proxies, SIEM, antivirus software, and IDPS systems.
  • Experience with patch management, including timely review and deployment of patches while considering business impact.
  • In-depth knowledge of security-related disciplines, including Information Security, Business Continuity, disaster recovery planning/testing, risk analysis, and auditing.
  • Ability to identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities and offer recommendations for avoiding them.
  • Experience in the development and delivery of security awareness educational programs.
  • Ability to clearly explain security risks, mitigation strategies, and best practices to individuals at all levels of technical expertise.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills:
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly to executives, managers, end-users, and non-technical personnel.
  • Skilled at interpreting and conveying technical manuals, software specifications, and network security protocols.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with diverse groups, including IT managers, subject matter experts, and business users.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries and complaints from clients, regulatory agencies, or business stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with team members and individuals across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to prepare and present technical speeches and articles for publication, ensuring adherence to prescribed styles and formats.
  • Capable of handling routine and periodic contact with IT managers, subject matter experts, and end-users.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, IT personnel, and boards of directors.
Analytical & Problem-Solving Abilities:
  • Strong analytical skills, with attention to detail and the ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Capable of solving complex problems and managing abstract and concrete variables, even when there is limited standardization.
  • Skilled in interpreting a wide variety of instructions (written, oral, diagrams, schedules) and applying them effectively.
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions, mathematical formulas, and diagrams to solve security challenges.

Certifications & Education:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • Security+, CySA+, or similar certifications preferred, with a willingness to obtain additional certifications such as Security+, CEH, or CISSP.
Mathematical & Technical Interpretation Skills:
  • Strong ability to perform basic mathematical operations.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret scientific, technical, and financial documents, reports, and legal documents with precision.


Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
