How You Will Contribute:

We're seeking a dynamic and skilled Senior Executive Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing the office of a Senior Executive in our Global Customer Engagement division. The Must Haves:

Relationship Management

  • Establish and build relationships with internal executives and senior-level members of their team across sales, systems engineering, marketing, product line management, supply chain, human resources, IT and legal.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of Ciena's business and customer/partner relationships to best facilitate effective and efficient engagements.
  • Act as point of contact for the Executive Assistant community in the Global Customer Engagement team and play a crucial role in fostering collaboration and ensuring smooth operations.

Internal and External Events

  • Facilitating working group meetings for key sales initiatives and ensuring seamless coordination and effective communications among participants.
  • Managing attendance and customer engagements at important industry events, ensuring an impactful experience for all involved.
  • Assisting in the planning/preparation of annual company events including our sales kickoff and the prestigious President's Club.

Coordination of Global Customer Engagement Schedule

  • Proactively managing and prioritizing customer/partner and internal stakeholder meetings, ensuring optimal use of time and resources.
  • Coordinating travel arrangements, including creating effective meeting agendas for internal teams, as well as customers, and partners. This may involve managing complex executive travel plans across multiple time zones.
  • Establish a productive working rhythm with the Senior Executive to manage all their commitments while maintaining communication real-time through email, phone, and text to ensure proper coordination and timely execution of tasks and responsibilities.

Experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently. Demonstration of a high level of business savvy in previous roles including using judgment, ability to prioritize on behalf of self and executive
  • Team collaboration, prioritization and problem solving
  • International business exposure is a positive, particularly given time zone management and cultural awareness
  • Proficiency in MSFT Office is required. SF.com, Workday and Oracle experience a plus, but not required as training can be provided.
  • At least five years' experience at the senior executive administrative assistant level

Location and Hours

  • Preferred location is Atlanta or Hanover.
  • This is a hybrid role. The incumbent can work from our Atlanta or Hanover office full time OR work with the SVP to determine a split between the office and remote working.
  • Ebbs and flows of business require flexible hours of work week-to-week.

Pay Range: The annual pay range for this position is $77,800 - $124,200.

Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
