Introduction
The Program Specialist in this seasonal position will implement and coordinate the Lighthouse Point Park gate during activities and programs as well as other park programs, as assigned. The work will require evening and weekend hours, depending on operations and assigned schedule. This position will be under the direct supervision of the Parks Administration. The employee is responsible for working directly with Program Aides to conduct all seasonal gate operations, as well as focusing on customer service and communication. This role includes maintaining detailed records, scheduling and communicating with other staff, as well as daily work in outdoor park settings.
Seasonal position, up to 40 hours per week, not to exceed 120 calendar days.
Hours of operation for Lighthouse Park are typically sunrise to sunset. As such, hours of work will vary, and shifts will include early mornings, evenings, holidays, and weekends. TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent, and combination of training and experience, including cashier and/or customer service, previous park gate experience, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills that provides the following knowledge, abilities and skills:

SALARY, BARGAINING UNIT & TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT This "Non Tested" position may be General or Special Funds.
This seasonal position is not eligible to receive medical benefits, vacation pay, sick pay, union membership, or union contractual benefits. Any period of seasonal employment will not be construed in any way to mean probationary employment. Persons may not be employed in two concurrent positions with the City and/or the Board of Education at the same time.
