Job Summary
Under the direction of a Family Medicine Physician, Family Medicine Advanced Practice Providers offer expert medical care to adults and children within a mobile clinic. Denver Health Mobile evaluates, treats, and helps prevent illnesses and injuries that occur regularly in at risk populations and within community settings. Mobile may refer patients to specialists when needed for further diagnosis or treatment. Family Medicine/ Advanced Practice Providers work at various mobile clinics and locations across the Denver Metro Area.
Essential Functions:
- Under the direction of a physician, you will evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide consultation to patients of all ages with acute and chronic illnesses, including major and complicated, and perform procedures learned in training. (30%)
- Provide preventative and therapeutic care for patients of all ages. This includes preventative care, acute care, prenatal care, care of injured persons, management of chronic illnesses, and performance of procedures learned in training. (25%)
- Supervise clinical staff in providing care for patients of all ages in an ambulatory patient setting. (15%)
- Performs privileged procedures as outlined in the Denver Health Advanced Practice Provider Ambulatory Care Clinical Privileges documentation. (10%)
- Some travel is required (15%)
- Participate in community outreach educational programs, educational activities, and community events to promote quality patient care. (5%)
Education:
Work Experience:
- 1-3 years Must be able to work independently and autonomously with minimal, remote physician supervision. Minimum of 3 years of experience in clinical care required. Required

Licenses:
- APN - Advanced Nurse Practitioner - DORA - Department of Regulatory Agencies Required and
- RN-Registered Nurse - DORA - Department of Regulatory Agencies Required or
- PA-Physician Assistant - State Medical Board Required or
- PAC-Certified Physician Assistant - NCCPA - National Commission for Certifying Agencies Required and
- DEAREG-DEA Registration - DEA - Drug Enforcement Agency Required and
- BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association or American Red Cross Required and
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Has adequate knowledge and skill of all privileged procedures as outlined in the Denver Health Advanced Practice Provider Ambulatory Care Clinical Privileges documentation
- Computer skills required.
- Excellent written and verbal communications, listening, and social skills.
- Ability to coordinate, refer, and manage medical care with both internal and external resources as appropriate.
- Knowledge of patient rights and laws relative to those rights, such as HIPAA
- Ability to make quick and accurate clinical assessments of mental and behavioral conditions.
- Computer skills, including data entry experience and ability to navigate a variety of electronic medical record systems.
- Communicate effectively with diverse patient population and among a stratosphere of support staff and administration.
- Proven ability to ask probing questions and obtain thorough and relevant information.
