OVERVIEW

This Food Safety Quality Product Manager role will serve as the primary lead for "as designed" and "as consumed" food safety, regulatory, and quality, supporting the Pet Treating business. Our pet-treating business drives over $500 million in sales for the General Mills business. The FSQ Product Manager interacts closely with the business and technical teams as a champion of consumer-first product design and quality "as manufactured" through the product lifecycle. This role supports products that are manufactured internally and externally across a variety of technology platforms. This requires expertise in quality and food safety programs and close partnership with R&D, Supply Chain, In-house Quality, External Partner Quality, and Regulatory.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Lead food safety and quality "as designed" and "as consumed" for the Pet Treating business.
  • Ensure that food safety and quality risks are identified, controlled, and communicated.
  • First Food Safety Quality point of contact for specific business team and product-related technical issues.
  • Monitor and identify quality and food safety improvement opportunities leveraging customer and consumer feedback - drive action plan alignment and leadership.
  • Champion consumer-first product design (reflected in our specifications) and quality "as manufactured" throughout the product life cycle. Ensure that plants are capable of consistently delivering products that meet our Remarkability framework for pets and pet parents.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in food science, chemical engineering, food engineering or other related degree fields
  • 5+ years of relevant food safety or quality experiences or other related experiences
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities/deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Comfort working with a variety of stakeholders, both internal and external, while delivering strong support to all partners involved

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience in pet food industry or pet food quality

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $91900.00 - $138000.00 / Annually. At General Mills we strive for each employee's pay at any point in their career to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role. The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
