Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Provides technical assistance and administrative support for the Engineering Department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Takes responsibility for part number creation and upkeep, including revision control in ERP system (Epicor).
  • Processes engineering change notices (ECN), including initiation, distribution, closing and status updates.
  • Retrieves and verifies customer specification changes per set schedules.
  • Initiates change notices for customer quality alerts, print/spec updates, or manufacturing plan changes.
  • Administers engineering systems, including Customer Prints, Manufacturing Sketches, CR1000/ECN and Process Improvement.
  • Manages control of internal and external engineering documentation.
  • Prepares and analyzes engineering reports; audits engineering systems and functions.
  • Conducts clerical updates as directed, including data entry, error corrections, and report creation.
  • Creates or updates DWI's (Department Work Instructions) or PCS (Process Control Sheets) as directed.
  • Updates manufacturing comments or BOM (Bill of Material) as directed.
  • Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of and conformity to Ace Precision Quality System Work Instruction requirements that govern Engineering Assistant operations.
  • Maintains or exceeds production standards through organization and planning.
  • Follows and complies with safety rules, regulations, and work instructions.
  • Accurately completes all required documentation.
  • Meets attendance policy requirements.
  • Contributes to team effort by assisting in areas as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Associate Degree, Technical Diploma, or Certificate in Business and experience to a manufacturing environment is preferable. Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel is essential.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, work instructions, reports and correspondence. Ability to write routine memos, reports, and correspondence. Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to speak English effectively with customers, visitors, and employees of the organization. Requires accurate and efficient data processing skills.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions and percentages to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Duties are of a somewhat diversified nature involving a variety of procedures that require judgment within prescribed limits. Requires independent thinking to complete general assignments, asking for instruction only when variations and problems arise. Must be able to multitask and work independently. Discretion with regard to confidential issues required. Accuracy is essential.
