SUMMARY

The Strategic Account Director has a dual role in driving business growth and ensuring exceptional program delivery for key client accounts. The position is responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities within existing and prospective clients, while also overseeing the successful execution of programs and services. Acting as the primary point of contact, the position must build trusted client relationships, align service delivery with strategic objectives, and lead cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact solutions. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, consultative sales acumen, and hands-on program leadership to drive client satisfaction, retention, and revenue growth. Responsibilities include business development and sales activities, planning, presentations, requirements development and analysis, proposal development, financial management, contract review and negotiation, subcontract coordination, budget/ schedule management, sales reporting, coordination with operations, management reporting, and clients. The position is responsible for full customer development and project lifecycle management to meet client expectations.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES



  1. Identify, develop, and pursue new business opportunities within the geospatial industry, including government and commercial sectors
  2. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, clients, and industry partners
  3. Develop and execute strategic account plans to grow existing accounts and expand market share
  4. Lead proposal development, pricing strategy, and contract negotiations
  5. Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings
  6. Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to inform growth strategy
  7. Collaborate with marketing to tailor messaging and outreach for target clients and sectors
  8. Update, track and report on pipeline activity, forecasting, and business development KPIs
  9. Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of geospatial programs and projects to meet client expectations, timelines, and budgets
  10. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during project execution
  11. Coordinate with production and other cross-functional teams as required during project execution.
  12. Monitor project progress, manage risks, and implement corrective actions as needed in coordination with management.
  13. Ensure quality assurance, compliance, and alignment with industry standards and client requirements
  14. Prepare and deliver regular project updates and reports to internal and external stakeholders
  15. Manage contract performance and support renewal/expansion discussions based on successful delivery
  16. Support resource allocation, budgeting, and financial tracking for assigned programs
  17. Prepare project reports for management, client, or others.
  18. Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.
  19. Coordinates project activities with all required governmental and regulatory agencies.
  20. Must be a self-starter and have the ability to work independently
  21. Ability to relate to clients and people at all levels of the organization and must possess excellent communication, diplomacy and listening skills; specifically, be accessible and responsive to the needs of clients.
  22. Other duties as assigned.



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position may or may not have specific supervisory responsibilities, depending on business needs. However, this position will provide directions to subordinate employees as well as input into hiring, training and employee performance evaluations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be a self-starter and have the ability to work independently with the ability to relate to clients and people at all levels of the organization and must possess excellent communication, diplomacy and listening skills; specifically, be accessible and responsive to the needs of clients. EDUCATION

Preference is a bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience. Master's degree or equivalent experience preferred. PMI certification or industry accreditation is a plus.

EXPERIENCE

10 years of experience, including experience in business development, sales, proposal preparation, project management, program design, and project financial/schedule performance management. Strong preference for experience in all phases of mapping project lifecycle management.

Salary Range: 130K - 180K annually
