CONSTRUCTION SURVEILLANCE TECHNICIAN BB&E is a full service civil and environmental engineering and consulting firm, headquartered in Northville, Michigan, which services both the Federal and Industrial sectors throughout the United States. BB&E team members provide Environmental Consulting, Facilities Engineering and Program/Project Management Services to Federal and private sectors.
Position Summary
BB&E is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Construction Surveillance Technician to join our team, to provide support to 325th CES Recovery Support Services onsite at Tyndall, AFB, FL.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Implement screening and inspection procedures and monitor construction and personnel.
- Clearing and securing areas, which the CST's are responsible for prior to departing for the day and completion of daily activity reports.
- Screen and document people, materials and equipment entering/exiting the construction sites.
- Maintain control of the Secure Storage Area (SSA) and the material contained within it.
- Monitor and observe the construction workers as they accomplish their various construction tasks, immediately reporting security related anomalies, incidents, issues, and concerns directly to the SSM.
- Review all construction activities to ensure the facility has been constructed in accordance with the project Design/Blueprints, ICD-705 Accreditation Requirements, DoD Physical Security Requirements, and Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection (ATFP) consideration.
- Perform assessments of the architectural layout, structural design, and the MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems to ensure compliance with project plans and to identify deviations.
- Write detailed reports and complete the analyses of issues, findings, and security situations which require staff action, and maintain daily activity logs.
Key Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain/maintain an active DoD Security Clearance is required
- Knowledge and Competencies
- Proficient knowledge of ICD 705 requirements.
- Working knowledge of building and construction crafts, and ICD 705 requirements.
- Completed a government approved Construction Surveillance Technician and ICD 705 training course.
- Knowledge and experience reviewing all construction activities to ensure the facility has been constructed in accordance with the project Design/Blueprints, ICD-705 Accreditation Requirements, DoD Physical Security Requirements, and Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection (ATFP) consideration.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Software: Proficiency using photography, computers, MS Office Products such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Self-Starter: Highly motivated, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines autonomously.
Experience & Education
- Minimum three (3) years of related experience in at least one of the following areas of expertise: Construction Security Surveillance, Technical Surveillance Countermeasures, Industrial or Government Security involving counterintelligence, construction quality assurance, or hands on supervisory construction experience.
- Preferred experience/skills include security experience related to SAPF or SCIF construction.
- Previous experience with DoD/MILCON construction projects, OSHA 10-Hr Safety Course.
- Education: A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
