Job Summary: The Cardio Pulmonary Specialist works within the defined clinical practice guidelines, scope of practice guidelines and policies and procedures established by the Medical Director and Clinical Director of the Department of Cardiovascular Health and Wellness, and approved by the Medical Practice Committee of Loma Linda University Medical Center. Performs CVHW patient treatment assessments, develops individual patient care plans and functions as an engaged multidisciplinary team member in the dynamic daily assessment and monitoring of patients receiving treatment within the Department of Cardiovascular Health and Wellness. Utilizes discretion and independent judgment in the development of and application of age-specific and developmentally appropriate evidenced-based patient care treatment plans and therapies. Participates in educational activities, departmental committees, research projects and other health related projects as assigned. Applies theoretical concepts to clinical practice and continually expands cardiovascular, cardiac and pulmonary knowledge base and clinical skills. Serves as a role model and provides positive influence to facilitate change. Contributes to a work environment of caring and cooperation between a culturally diverse workforce and patient populations. Performs other duties as needed.
