About This Role

The Career Center at Kansas State University seeks a dynamic and skilled Assistant Director who will serve as the Career Engagement Consultant for the College of Agriculture and the College of Veterinary Medicine. The Assistant Director's efforts will be key to promoting transformative career development across the student experience within the college. As a leader within the career success ecosystem of the university, the Assistant Director will work closely with faculty, employers, administration and others throughout the university community to prepare students for lifetime career success.



  • College/University Relations: Consult with faculty, college administrators and other university personnel on opportunities for enhancing students' career development and participation in applied learning.
  • Programming: Develop, coordinate and facilitate training and skill development workshops to include resume preparation, job search strategies, employer research and interview skills.
  • Advising: Provide students and recent graduates with support in developing their career readiness and job searching.
  • Employer Relations: Facilitate career connections through interview opportunities, internship/job listings, employer resume referrals, career fairs, and networking events.


The Assistant Director will provide additional services as assigned by the Executive Director


About Us

The Career Center facilitates the career readiness of all students throughout the K-State community. The Career Center offers an extensive career library, free assessments for exploring majors/careers, job search training, career advising, employer connections, and a staff dedicated to assisting students in the career development process.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Requires a bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience in university student services, teaching, human resource management or related field
  • Master's degree
  • Team-oriented individual
  • Problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Intercultural competency

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship

Anticipated Hiring Pay Range

$47,486-$60,541 ($22.38-$29.11 hourly)
