Position Title: Manual Machinist - 1st Shift Wage: $20.00 - $25.00/hour Shift: 1st Hours: 7:00am - 4:00pm Are your skills not being fully utilized? Reach your maximum potential by working with QPS! QPS Employment Group has a great opportunity available for a Manual Machinist at a company in Des Moines, IA. This is a potential to hire position for 1st shift. Apply today! Manual Machinist Responsibilities: - Use measuring devices such as micrometers and calipers as well as math to calculate dimensions and tolerances to set up machines - Secure parts such as holding fixtures, attachments, and accessories onto machines - Show understanding and appropriately use tools, materials, and machines to prep machine and operate it effectively - Operate tools such as lathes and milling machines to produce parts to specifications - Examine and test completed parts to identify any errors or defects and troubleshoot accordingly - Diagnose machine malfunctions and adjust as necessary - Evaluate experimental procedures to recommend changes or make modifications as necessary to improve speed of set up and production Requirements for Manual Machinist: - Able to effectively use measuring devices such as micrometers and calipers - Able to demonstrate proper reading and understanding of blueprints, schematics and other drawings - Familiar with use of four jaw lathe chuck - Able to stand for duration of shift - Able to maneuver up to 50lbs on an occasional basis desmoinesresume@qpsemployment.com IND092 QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
