This opportunity is in the Information Technology department.

As the company's largest department, I.T. is responsible for supporting both ongoing operations and our next innovative project. As a Security Engineer II, you'll be at the forefront of our mission to strengthen and evolve Safety National's cybersecurity infrastructure. This mid-level role will give you the opportunity to implement, integrate, and optimize security technologies across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments. You'll work cross-functionally to ensure that systems are securely designed and configured to meet business and regulatory needs. From conducting technical assessments and recommending architectural improvements to automating security processes and mentoring peers, your work will be both strategic and hands-on. Qualifications

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, or a related field (preferred).

Required Qualifications:



  • Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.
  • This position allows for a hybrid work schedule which includes a minimum of 3 days per week in our St. Louis Corporate Office, located at 1832 Schuetz Rd. Saint Louis, MO. All employees are required to submit work from home requests and follow our Work From Home policy, which will be provided to all candidates selected to interview.
  • 3 or more years of experience in cybersecurity, IT, or related roles.
  • 3 or more years of experience in networking infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience with security tools and technologies.
  • Understanding of cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Proficiency in network and application security controls.
  • Experience with security technologies such as SIEM, IAM, EDR, WAF, and DLP.
  • Experience in vulnerability management and risk assessments.
  • Ability to integrate security into IT and development processes.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Security-related certification (e.g., Security+, GSEC).
  • Scripting or automation experience (Python, PowerShell, Bash).
  • Experience with cloud security configurations (AWS IAM, Azure Security Center, GCP Security Command Center).
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR).
  • Experience with DevSecOps tools (SAST, DAST, container security).
  • Automation and scripting proficiency using tools like Terraform.
  • Strong analytical and technical communication skills.
  • Experience conducting security architecture reviews.
  • Ability to align security initiatives with business goals.

Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, experience and geographic location.
