Chartwells Higher Education is on the lookout for an outstanding and dynamic General Manager to lead our exceptional dining services team at Idaho State University in Pocatello, ID. As the General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial success of operations, building strong relationships with our valued clients, and fostering professional growth among your team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead employee meetings, performance reviews, and training programs to foster a culture of excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, local, state, and federal laws, maintaining a safe and professional environment.
  • Maintain food quality standards while optimizing food costs, contributing to the financial success of the operation.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with staff, clients, guests, and other departments, acting as a trusted leader and partner.
  • Oversee financial reporting, including sales reports, P&L statements, and budget adherence.
  • Analyze trends in financial data and adjust strategies to ensure the continued success of dining services.
  • Manage purchasing, inventory, and operational controls to ensure a streamlined and efficient process.
  • Collaborate with chefs to plan innovative, delicious, and health-conscious menus.
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP standards and proper food storage protocols to maintain a safe dining environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS, Hospitality or Culinary degree preferred
  • Five years of foodservice operation experience
  • High volume production and catering experience is essential
  • Previous experience managing a budget
  • Desire to learn and grow with a top notch foodservice company
